For shipments to Senegal, the car must be 8 years old or under. This restriction does not apply to The Gambia.
We require the original car title with no bank lien. If the car was recently purchased, a bill of sale is also required. One copy of the key must be provided.
If there is a lien on the title, provide the original lien release letter from your lender.
You may place a few boxes of personal items of no commercial value inside the vehicle.
Payment in full is required as soon as the vehicle is booked. We accept major credit cards and wire transfers.
We do not ship severely damaged vehicles. All vehicles must run and drive under their own power.
The vehicle must be delivered to our warehouse at 3450 Baychester Ave, Bronx, NY 10475. We do not accept vehicles without original title at drop-off.
We can only ship vehicles that run and drive under their own power. Non-running vehicles will not be accepted.
Vehicles with severe structural or mechanical damage will be refused at the warehouse.
We will not accept any vehicle without the original title at time of delivery to our warehouse.
Ensure there is only minimal gas in the tank when delivering your vehicle. This is a safety requirement for container loading.
Your vehicle is consolidated with 2–3 other cars in a 40ft or 45ft container. The number of vehicles per container depends on model type (Sedan vs. SUV).
Shipment is booked once we have received enough vehicles for a full load. We will inform you of the estimated departure and arrival dates. Arrival dates are estimated — not guaranteed. We have no control over carrier transit times or schedule changes.
Once the car has left the USA, the original title and bill of lading (with your recipient's information) will be expedited to Dakar or Banjul. Copies of all paperwork will be sent to you by email.
As a freight forwarder, we do our best to arrange, facilitate, manage and load your shipments to safely arrive at destination. However, many parties are involved in the process — truckers, vessel carriers, crane operators, and port authorities — and none can be held responsible for any loss or damage. Fatalities and accidents can occur with ocean shipping.
Marine insurance is quoted based on the declared value of your vehicle. It covers loss or damage to your vehicle while in transit.
No coverage while the vehicle is under its own power, except during loading and off-loading.
Marring, denting, scratching, chipping, rust, oxidation, wear & tear, and mechanical/electrical derangement (unless caused by an insured peril) are excluded.
No coverage for items or accessories inside the vehicle unless factory-fitted.
Subject to a deductible of 3% of the insured vehicle value, with a minimum deductible of $500.
All customs duties and offloading charges are paid at the Port of Dakar in Senegal by the receiver or their customs broker (transitaire).
If you choose your own broker, they will need to coordinate with our representative in Dakar to pay the offloading fees (Frais de débarquements). You can pick up your original title as soon as the offloading fee payment is completed.
Upon arrival, the container is transferred to Holding Gueye to be offloaded. This allows you to clear your vehicle without causing delays to other customers sharing the container.
We will release the bill of lading electronically to your broker or representative once all conditions are met.
These fees are paid in Senegal by the vehicle receiver or their customs broker. Saloum Logistics does not collect these fees.
You may also use your own customs broker — that is perfectly fine. However, we do offer customs clearance services in Senegal. If you would like a customs quotation for your vehicle, please email us with your vehicle's VIN number at . Our team works closely with vessel companies and customs brokers to navigate the process seamlessly.
All customs duties and offloading charges are paid at the Port of Banjul in The Gambia by the receiver or their customs agent. Fees are collected by the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA).
If you have your own Gambian customs agent, they will need to coordinate with our local representative in Banjul to arrange payment of offloading and port fees. Your original title will be released once payment is confirmed.
Upon arrival at the Port of Banjul, the container is directed to an authorized offloading zone. As vehicles share a container, prompt coordination by your receiver is important to avoid storage charges and delays for co-shippers.
We release the bill of lading electronically to your agent or representative in Gambia once all conditions are met.
Once your car departs the USA, the original title and bill of lading are expedited to Banjul. Email copies are sent to both you and your receiver.
Gambia fees are paid in GMD (Gambian Dalasi) at destination. Contact us at for current fee estimates before booking.
